I say “truck” because it is not the bigly vehicle that is usually associated with that word, it is but a Ranger. However, it has ridiculously low miles, only 48k!

Full spec: XLT Super Cab, RWD, 3.0 V6, auto

Overall, it’s in pretty okay shape, no visible rust on the body or frame, a couple minor dents and scratches because it does get used for truckly things. Really could just use a good detail, who knows how long it’s been since it was washed last. Still books at over $6000 minimum private party, so that’s neat.

How’d it do? Rwd Rangers are pretty notorious for terrible traction in inclement weather. Ask me how I know

I don’t know, my RWD Ranger did fine with 4 sandbags in the bed. I miss driving it in the snow.

I heard Vulcan V6. I’m here.

I’ve had less than stellar results in hilly Seattle in the rain. Gotten stuck a few times on flat ground too (mud). Haven’t actually tried driving the work trucks in the snow, that does sound fun (assuming there’s no one else on the road)

Yes, for about the price of a V6 Mustang.

Every time a new worker took out one of the rangers to the field they would end up in the ditch.. same story three different drivers; just driving along, hit washboard and it went sideways..

I had one do it on wet pavement over a bump.

Replaced them with Tacomas and no more problems.

why such a fan of the vulcan? I didn’t hate it but I’ve heard numerous complaints and woes on here

Fairly well, although I did also have 200lbs of sand in the back and never went above 2.7k rpm in the snow

This reminds of the Ranger my brother had for a while. It was the same color but a step side, and sooooooo damn clean. I miss seeing it.

Same with my RWD S-10. On all seasons, with an open rear diff. Only got stuck once.

Perhaps a similar reason to why they don’t have exterior tie-downs. Most pickup owners don’t use them, as they rarely use their beds ¯\_()_/¯

Rock solid for 218k miles.

Bulletproof engine if maintained. (I’ve seen examples where bulletproof where not maintained, but I don’t recommend that)

Sounds like an American Busso 2.5 V6 at full throttle.

Nice! My brother used to have a standard cab, long bed Ranger with the V6 and a 5 speed. That truck was a lot of fun to drive.

Was it fun?

when i finally got to dry tarmac, yes. the engine was a joy and sounded really good, it was surprisingly nimble and athletic for a truck, dare i even say quick
